Тези доповіді

The technique of tribotechnical research developed by the authors allows us to study the properties and contact interactions of materials and their surface layers, in particular the wear of foundry and reinforced by quasicrystalline particles aluminum alloys.

Particular attention is also given to the effects of the hardening ability of the matrix alloy and characteristics of reinforcing particles, such as size, fracture toughness, spatial distribution and interfacial strength, on the friction behaviour and achieved wear resistance.

So, the QC particles can be a good candidate to be used as reinforcing medium in metal matrix composites for high performance tribological applications. Thanks to high wear resistance, low friction coefficient, high elastic modulus, and high elevated strength the QC phases can substitute conventional ceramic and intermetallic reinforcement in some cases.
